St. Mary’s Community Church held its fifth annual Women’s Tea on July 8th, where the women (and this year the mem too) showcased their best “Sunday go to meeting” hats to a full house.
Not only did the members and their guests sip tea, but they also dined on the specialty of the table. Each table was sponsored by a St. Mary’s member, and the treats on the table were the member’s own creation.
This event drew a huge crowd and well over $1700.00 was raised for the church’s outreach ministries, which includes hot meals for anyone in need of one, free tutoring, clean clothes and toiletries, plus several other programs offered to the less fortunate through the church.
Sipping tea and nibbling on crumpets was not the only activity at this event. Games were played, and several guests won prizes, including a prize for the best looking hat.
