The month of November ended with a sad note for the St. Mary’s Community Church family with the death of Deacon Earl D. “Daddy” Knighten Sr.
Daddy Knighten was “the pillar” of the church, a dedicated and loving family man, a stalwart in the community, but most of all, a faithful and devoted man of God!
Known simply as “Daddy” by his church family, Deacon Knighten was a treasure trove of information. He would quote scriptures from the bible to make a point as he regaled you with stories about his illustrious life.
As the Christmas season approaches, let us remember, the magic of Christmas is not in the presents, but in His presence.
Don’t forget, that as a service to our community and a component of our Church Outreach, we serve free breakfast every Sunday at 8:00 am, and free lunch every Wednesday at 11:00 am.
On Sunday, December 18, St. Mary’s will have its Christmas program, and on Saturday, December 31, its Watch Night Service.

Bible Study is every Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
