October was an exceptional month for St. Mary’s Community Church, as we held our annual Great Event Banquet and hosted our first annual Plant City Housing Fair.

As usual the Great Event Banquet was a huge success, not only as our biggest fund raiser for the year, but also as a great social event.

A large crowd again dined on a superb meal prepared by our Pastor/Chef and the First Lady, while being entertained lorenzowith a slid show showing some of the programs supported by St. Mary’s Outreach Programs and other entertainment.

But the highlight of the evening was an appearance by a special guest, the Great Lorenzo, whohad the entire room in stiches as he told several intriguing stories.

The first annual Plant City Housing Fair, sponsored by Keystone Home Builders, The City of Plant City, and St. Mary’s Community Church was a huge success for our Community Outreach Program.  We were able to bring together prospective first time home buyers, elderly home owners who need home repairs, people who need credit counseling, rentals, seniors with health issues, and others needing help, advice, and counseling, with companies such as; Florida Home Partnership, Hillsborough Housing Finance Authority, Habitat for Humanity, and  Seniors in Service, Suncoast Community Health Center, Sunshine Bank, and others to answer questions, provide assistance, and set up interviews and appointments for further discussions, with classes on credit repair and home ownership being planned for January 2017.

As the holidays approaches, St. Mary’s Community church is gearing up to again help provide Thanksgiving baskets to those in need, another great service of our Outreach Programs.

Don’t forget, that as a service to our community and a component of our Church Outreach, we serve free breakfast every Sunday at 8:00 am, and free lunch every Wednesday at 11:00 am.

Every Tuesday, at 6:00 to 6:15 pm, the prayer line is open.  The number for the prayer line is (605) 475-6700, code 9479396.

Bible Study is every Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
