During the month of September, we, as a church will do our best to make all of our events that we, as a church body, and an individual, have committed to and show our love to both God and our Church.
The next two months will be a busy time of year for the members of St. Mary’s Community Church.
September saw the beginning of school and the return of most of our members after summer vacations, and events scheduled for the entire month of September.
On Saturday, September 17th, the ladies of SMCC will be hosting their Women’s Conference at 9:00 AM with Pastor Katrina Lunsford as the keynote speaker.
The 12 Tribes of Israel teams will be making a presentation during the morning service (11:00 AM) on September 18th, with each tribe or team offering a demonstration or explanation of the 12 tribes. The fundraiser will officially end on September 25th.
September 25th is Dual Day for St. Mary’s. The women of SMCC will conduct the morning services at 11:00 AM with Minister Gwen Stevens delivering the sermon, and the men will be conducting the evening services at 3:00 PM featuring Rev. Jasper Jackson.
Our Great Event Banquet is on October 22nd, and ads for a calendar and tickets for this event are being sold by all SMCC members.
October will also see our first Housing Fair at St. Mary’s Community Church. On the 29th, in conjuction with the City of Plant City, the Plant City Housing Authority, Keystone Home Builders, and several other governmental and civic organizations, we will be coming together to help low income and first time home buyers with programs that help with credit problems and purchasing a home.
St. Mary’s Community Church has been working extensively with the City of Plant City on several projects including the city’s Main Street Program. Two events planned by the Plant City Main Street Program during the month of September include the GardenFest (featuring antiques, plants, garden décor, jewelry, and more) on September 24th, at McCall Park in Historic Downtown Plant City from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The second event for September is the Harvest Moon Hop on the 30th, and it includes Food Trucks, a DJ, a Pokermon event, and Children Activities, and will be held at McCall Park and Palmer Street from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
Don’t forget, that as a service to our community and a component of our Church Outreach, we serve free breakfast every Sunday at 8:00 AM, and free lunch every Wednesday at 11:00 AM.
