St. Mary’s Community Church joined in the annual ”Day of Service” and “CareFest” activities sponsored by the Improvement League of Plant City, CareFest Plant City, and Somebody Cares Tampa Bay.

In addition to hosting the Day of Service and CareFest luncheons on Monday, January 15th, and Saturday, January 20th, SMCC also adopted a house belonging to an elderly person and made some much need repairs as a part of its outreach program.

St. Mary’s has worked with these and other organizations and churches over the last several years helping the elderly and disadvantaged by making repairs, painting, landscaping, and general cleaning of their homes and properties.

The Day of Service is a part of the Martin Luther King Jr. annual celebration during the month of January, along with CareFest, which usually hosts a second day of helping the elderly and disadvantaged during the fall.

St. Mary’s Community Church has become an integral part of these outreach activities and take great pride in the work it has done in the community.
