St. Mary’s Community Church again participated in the annual Plant City Empty Bowls held at the Robert W. Willaford Railroad Museum  on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

The 7th annual Empty Bowls Project brings community awareness to local hunger needs. Live entertainment, live auction, soups made by local organizations and churchs and handmade bowls designed by local area students are all part of the days activities.. Tickets include a bowl of soup, water, apple, bread and a student bowl to take home as a reminder of all the “Empty Bowls” everyday.

Organized by the United Food Bank of Plant City, sponsors, made up of local businesses, included; The City of Plant City, The Florida Strawberry Festive, Publix, The Arts Council of Plant City, and other area businesses.

 

Again, St. Mary’s soup, dubbed, “Mystery Soup,” was among the best and as in the last several years, was all consumed within a short time of the start of ticket sales.
